Fukushima: After and Before
A Google Earth creative banner campaign helps reintegrate land around Fukushima.
When the tsunami hit Japan in 2011, I asked Google Earth and Geo Eye for satellite images of the affected areas before and after the disaster. From these images, a series of interactive banners were created, commissioned by PAH. When users moved the mouse across the banner, they could compare how each affected area looked before it was hit by the tsunami and how much money was needed to bring back life to this particular region.
The campaign reached 4 300 000 hits online and helped gather essential financial aid. It also won numerous awards, including Digital Gold at the Golden Drum Festival and bronze at KTR Digital (Polish Creative Awards).
