Samsung × Zamilska play against e-waste
DJ set via Messenger Bot serving environmental education
70% of Poles do not know how to dispose of electro-waste. UN Center for the Environment GRID-Warsaw with Samsung Electronics and ElecktroEko wanted to radically change the attitude of young people (20-30 years old) toward this problem.
The Polish younger generation still can not see electro waste as a pressing problem. Additionally, it’s a topic that is not seen as “sexy” and has almost no potential to catch attention on social media.
We teamed up with a hot electronic musician, Zamilska, and created and launched an electronic song called: EkoElectro, inspired by the heartbeat of the Planet. We announced its premiere on social media. But we invited people to receive the song before the premiere date in their Messenger.
In Messenger, young people could listen to the song and interact with the artist. 3 days before the official launch they received videos, photos, and gifs educating them about the risks and recycling methods of electro-waste.
